St Paul’s Thrift Shop (Nicosia’s Anglican church)
A different range of goods can be found at St Paul’s Thrift Shop, a Saturday tradition held in the grounds of Nicosia’s Anglican church. Relatively new to the ‘market’ market with just two years of operation, the donations of used books, second-hand clothes and household items make this place a necessity for those on a budget as there are bargains galore to be had. Run for charity and staffed by volunteers, under the cool shade of the trees, the thrift shop, bric a brac stall and bookshop create a world far away from the cosmopolitan streets of Nicosia.
A quick rummage through the St Paul’s Thrift Shop, and it’s a wonder how fashion-obsessed Nicosians are yet to source out this unique thrift shop that will, in some cases, produce rare commodities such as fur coats and vintage pieces.
