Frankfurter flea market
The Frankfurter flea market takes place every Saturdays, except during holidays. The exact location of the flea market changes on a weekly basis between the Schaumainkai and the Eastern Harbour at the Lindleystraße.
Both venues are quite close to the city center and can be reached by foot, bike, public transport or by car. However, parking is limited to a few available spaces in the vicinity.
The flea market at Schaumainkai / Eastern Harbour starts at 09:00 a.m. and runs non-stop until 2:00 p.m.

Both locations have a pleasant atmosphere, providing a unique view of Frankfurt’s skyline. The proximity to the river and the presence of many cafes, bistros and small restaurants nearby, offer a nice way to round off the visit.
The Schaumainkai flea market especially attracts visitors looking to subsequently enjoy from a visit to one of the nearby museums. On the other hand, exhibitors find the central location of the flea markets particularly attractive, as it offer a higher opportunity to meet potential customers.
Schaumainkai flohmarkt
Both locations of the Frankfurter flea market have their own charm. The Schaumainkai flea market, which has been the exclusive home to the Frankfurter flea market for many years, has a nice atmosphere.
The flea market is located along the quay of the Main river, in the shadow of many trees, and offer a skyline which is pretty unique in Germany.
The Schaumainkai is part of the so-called Museumsufers (Museum Embankment): Nine museums are directly lined up side by side on the banks of the Main, and lure flea market’s visitors into visiting the museum. The Schaumainkai flea market is located between the Eisernen Steg (iron bridge) and the Holbein Steg.
How to get there: Take the U1, U2, U3 or U8 to the station “Schweizer Platz” and then take the Schweizer Straße up to Schaumainkai.
Flohmarkt am Osthafen
The Flohmarkt am Osthafen (East Harbour flea market), on the other hand, shows up its authentic charm from a completely different angle. The Lindleystraße runs parallel to the Schwedlersee, and offers too a beautiful view of downtown Frankfurt.
Besides its charm, the East Harbour flea market is also quite the place to purchase typical flea market items, such as old books and records as well as porcelain & crockery, paintings and vintage clothing.
Private flea market stalls can be found next to professional traders who showcase high-quality antique furniture and decorative items. Some stalls also sell new home appliances, utensils and CDs. The result is a varied mix of merchants who have a little bit of everything to offer to everyone.
How to get there: Take the U6 to “Ostbahnhof” or a Deutsche Bahn local trains to “Frankfurt (Main) Ost”. Then, take a long walk along the Hanauer Landstrasse, until the Osthafenplatz. This is where the Lindleystraße is located.
