DISCONTINUED: The West End Flea Market has been discontinued. Read instead our article about the best flea markets in the San Francisco Bay Area >>
The West End Flea Market takes place every Saturday in one of the parking lots of the College of Alameda campus 9am-4pm. West End is not as well known as some of the other flea markets to make this list, which means this market is less picked over – the vendor to shopper ratio is still skewed (more vendors/stuff and less shoppers). For that matter, do not expect to find something similar to treasure island flea market….or any flea market for that matter.
The type of vendors vary though: some have quality vintage items, while others sell some junk. But keep in mind that the West End Flea Market is still growing (20 stalls), and you will be able to see everything in a matter of 20 minutes.
Compared to a lot of the flea markets in the area, the West End Flea Market surprisingly sells plenty of antiques; unfortunately, merchants that sell useful things are way too expensive and they are generally not willing to haggle – though you might get better deals than you would have for comparable merchandise at the Alameda Antique Faire or the SF Alemany Flea Market.
All in all, the environment at the West End Flea Market is clean and safe, with a nicely paved parking lot and (some) friendly vendors to assist you.
Address: 555 Ralph Appezzato Memorial Pkwy. Alameda, CA 94501
Schedule: DISCONTINUED Every Sunday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
